The Department of Enterprise of the Generalitat is studying the possibility of making some days of the month of February available for skiing outside the confinement.
Municipal confinement has caused the number of skiers in the ski resorts to drop by more than 95%. In order to save the ski sector a little, the Department of Enterprise is studying how to make some days of February available for skiing.
The Minister of Enterprise of the Generalitat, Ramon Tremosa, proposes what is called “White Days” or the famous “White Week”. which will allow in February to relax the current restrictions to go to the snow, as long as the epidemiological situation allows it.
The idea is to allow travel for a few days between the counties in order to be able to go up to the ski resorts.
In a visit to La Seu d’Urgell, the counselor explained that the proposal aims to help maintain the ski season, precisely in a month in which in previous years it was common for schoolchildren to travel in these “White Weeks”.
The company director wanted to make it clear that everything will depend on the evolution of the health situation, and said: “If it is possible, as soon as we can, we will do it”.
The counselor emphasized that the opening of the tracks has NOT led to an increase in the number of cases. He says that, “by taking extreme measures, it is feasible to maintain a minimum of economic activity in this sector”.
