Developed and tested together with the Mammut Pro Team – the latest fruit of the Mammut innovation process. The new Nordwand Pro HS Suit Men is uncompromisingly technical and absolutely functional.

Within the broad spectrum of alpinism and alpine pursuits, ice climbing has been attracting growing numbers of followers for some time.

Over the last 15 years, as well as a sharp increase in tough ascents of ice faces and icefalls. New disciplines such as dry-tooling and mixed climbing have become familiar terms even beyond insider alpinist.

Dani Arnold and the other athletes came back from their ice climbing trips asking for jackets/pants that would not slip out of place and for less material under the climbing harness.

Working with the input from the Mammut Pro Team, we quickly came up with the idea of a one-piece suit.

We discussed the concept with our partner GORE and analyzed the problem areas for this uncompromising garment.

Different material concepts were then tested and the first prototypes produced. We achieved a lot during the process and gained valuable insights that could be fed into developments for other products. For example, the accumulated know-how from the suit also contributed to the new Nordwand Pro HS Men and Mittellegi Pro HS Women outfits.

The Mammut Pro Team Alpine, and in particular Dani Arnold, then put the suit through a tough field test and presented their feedback to our product managers, designers and developers. After some final adjustments and another round of tests, everything was in place: ready for production.

And because we assume that there is a potential pro athlete such as Dani Arnold or Stephan Siegrist in each of our customers, the suit has been developed for any ambitious ice climber or north face ascender. Suit up for the alpine!
